I was born and raised in Galesburg Illinois. I Studied music at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, and received my Bachelors Degree in Music from North Park University in 2014. In 2014, I began my career in ministry by working as a section leader/music intern at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest. It was at First Pres. Lake Forest that I was introduced to hymnody and from there; I began collecting hymnals (my current collection numbers over 100 from different denominations). While at North Park University, I was involved in University Choir, Chamber Singers, College Life Planning Team (a Sunday night worship service for the community), Cross-Country and Track—as an athlete for two years, and a chaplain for one, and was also involved in International Student orientation. I have a deep, deep love for intercultural studies and learning about other cultures. In 2015, I accompanied 10 other students on a cross-cultural immersion trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo to study ‘pardon, reconciliation, and forgiveness’. I have a passion for connecting individuals with the larger body of Christ, especially youths and young adults. For the past 4 years, I have worked at Covenant Harbor Bible Camp (Lake Geneva, WI) and Portage Lake Covenant Bible Camp (Onekama, MI) and have a deep appreciation for camping ministry. I attribute my love for youth ministry to my years of work at Covenant Bible Camps.
In my spare time, I love watching Survivor, playing piano, and playing sports. I have an avid love for sports, and in particular Chicago Cubs baseball and Miami Dolphins football, and Detroit Redwings Hockey. If I had to choose a career other than ministry, I would like to be a “one hit wonder” song writer or a chef.
